What Time Is Check-In? What About Checkout?
For our RV and tent camping sites, check-in begins at 1:00p.m. For our cabins and cottages, check-in begins at 4:00p.m. Checkout is at 10:00a.m. for cabins and cottages and 11:00a.m. for RV and tent camping sites.
What If I Don’t Check Out on Time?
We truly hate to see you leave, but we also want to be able to welcome the next guest with the same enthusiasm and site preparation. Which is why we ask all guests to prepare for a prompt on-time departure. Checkouts after 11:00a.m. will incur a $50 penalty. A nightly site fee will also be added to checkouts that occur after 1:00p.m. We appreciate your consideration of other campers and we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon.
What Is Your Cancelation Policy?
If you choose to cancel your reservation at least 14 days prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded, less a $25 processing fee per site and/or golf cart. If your cancellation request is received 7–13 days prior to arrival, you will receive a Danforth Bay camping credit, less a $25 processing fee per site and/or golf cart. For cancellations made 6 or fewer days prior to arrival, your deposit will be forfeited in its entirety. Due to the nature of the camping experience, we do not offer refunds for inclement weather.
Changes in arrival or departure dates must be made at least 16 days prior to your arrival to avoid penalties. Please note: This policy does not apply to weeklong reservations made before May 1, as those reservations have a weeklong minimum and cannot be shortened.
What Is the Age Requirement for Reserving a Site at Danforth Bay?
Guests must be at least 21 years of age to reserve a cabin or campsite at Danforth Bay.
When Are Your Quiet Hours?
Quiet hours at Danforth Bay are 11:00p.m.–7:00a.m. Please be courteous to other guests around you. Profanity or violence towards others will not be tolerated. Loud, objectionable noise is not allowed at any time. Inconsiderate guests will be asked to leave. Any type of illegal activity will result in immediate removal by authorities.
How Many Guests Are Included in the Cabin/Campsite Rate?
Two adults and two children are included in the rate for every cabin and campsite. Additional day or overnight guests can be added (up to the maximum allowed in each accommodation) for an additional fee. However, there are no fees for guests aged 3 and under. Visitors are not permitted to bring boats, golf carts or pets.
How Many Vehicles Are Permitted Per Site?
At Danforth Bay, your reservation includes two passenger vehicles, one camping vehicle and one tent. All vehicles must be registered with the front desk upon arrival and parked completely on your campsite. Additional vehicles may be registered for a fee. However, cars, trucks, motorcycles and golf carts are the only motorized vehicles permitted for transportation on our grounds. Anyone operating a vehicle must have a valid driver’s license. Please respect the campground’s posted speed limit of 7mph.
Can I Bring My Golf Cart or Boat With Me to Danforth Bay?
One boat and one golf cart are permitted per site. However, it must be parked completely on the site, and additional registration fees will apply. Neither jet-propelled watercrafts nor boats more than 21 feet in length are permitted on or off the shores at Danforth Bay. Anyone operating a boat or golf cart must have a valid license to do so. At Danforth Bay, there is also a minimum age requirement of 19 for driving personal golf (or 21 if the golf cart is a rental). Reckless behavior will not be tolerated. Please register your golf cart or boat with the front desk upon check-in.
How Much Do I Need to Clean My Campsite?
Upon checkout, please leave your campsite in the same condition you found it. If excess waste or damage is found after your departure, A minimum $100 cleaning fee will be charged to your reservation.
How Does Trash Need to Be Handled at Danforth Bay?
In order to discourage unwanted wildlife encounters, guests are not permitted to leave trash out overnight. At Danforth Bay, there are multiple dumpsters to help you dispose of your waste regularly. However, these dumpsters are intended for household trash in tied trash bags only.
Does My RV Need to Have a Backflow Preventer?
To access the water hookups at Danforth Bay, a backflow preventer is required. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a $50 penalty.
How Do I Get a Hold of the Danforth Bay Team for Afterhours Assistance?
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911. For standard afterhours assistance, please call 603.986.5447.
What Is Your Smoking Policy?
All accommodations and buildings at Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort are non-smoking. This includes the prohibition of juuling, vaping and use of e-cigarettes. Smoking is also prohibited within 25 feet of any building or entrance on the property. Any violation of our smoking policy may result in a fine of up to $300.
When and Where are Campfires Permitted at Danforth Bay?
Wood campfires are permitted in designated fire rings only. Fires must never be left unattended, and flames should not exceed 24”. We require all campfires and coals to be completely extinguished by 11:30p.m. We do not permit propane-fueled fires. Only campground issued and pre-approved fire pits may be used on property, bringing your own portable fire pit (including Solo stoves and/or anything propane powered) is prohibited.
Can I Bring My Pet With Me to Danforth Bay?
Friendly, well-socialized pets are welcome and must be up-to-date on their shots and owner must have a copy of their current rabies certificate with them. Pets must also be kept on a leash and under the control of their owner at all times. At Danforth Bay, guests are only permitted to bring two pets per campsite without prior approval, and visitors are not permitted to bring pets. Additionally, owners are responsible for properly disposing of their pet’s waste.
A maximum of two pets per site are welcome and must be registered at the Front Desk upon arrival with a current rabies certificate for your camping pets. We accept service animals, if an accident occurs in the room and a deep clean is needed, there will be a $300 fee added to the reservation. For the protection of, and in consideration of our guests, noisy, vicious or unruly pets are not allowed. Guests who are unable to control their pets must remove them from the premises, or the animal may be taken by local animal control authorities. Visitors of registered campers are not allowed to bring pets, boats, or golf carts into the campground. Exotic pets are strictly prohibited.
At Danforth Bay, pets are not permitted in our pool area, on our beaches, in public buildings or in any of our cabins or cottages. If your dog is found to be disruptive, aggressive, barking, whining or causing damage, we will ask you to find alternate accommodations for them. Two Paws Up and Karla’s Pet Rendezvous are great nearby kennels. Please be aware that Danforth Bay holds pet owners responsible for any damage or injury caused by their pet. Guests unable to control their pets must remove them from the premises or risk having them taken in by animal control authorities.
Dog Park: To help ensure your dog gets the exercise they need, we have a dog park located past The Depot on Shawtown Road. The park is available from dawn to dusk. Dog park rules are posted at the park’s entrance.
Dog-Friendly Swimming Spots: If your dog loves swimming, you may allow them to do so at the canoe launch area beyond the Cove Beach.
Cabins & Deluxe Cottages: Pets are not allowed in or on cabin/deluxe cottage sites. A cleaning fee of $300 will be assessed for any pets found in any of these rental units.

Can I Bring My Drone With Me to Danforth Bay?
Unfortunately, drone flying is not permitted at Danforth Bay.
Is Alcohol Permitted at Danforth Bay?
Alcohol is permitted at Danforth Bay. However, it may only be consumed by guests 21 years of age and older. Please store any alcohol in a secure location to ensure it is not accessible to underaged guests.
What Steps Are You Taking to Prevent Further Spread of COVID-19?
As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, our approach to it does too. As of now, we’re asking all our guests to use discretion when determining when and where mask wearing is appropriate for them. We’re also asking that anyone experiencing any of the following symptoms or circumstances refrains from coming to Danforth Bay. We’ll be more than happy to welcome you to the campground at a later date.

When Can My Family Use the Playground?
Our playground is open 8:30a.m. until dusk. We ask that children never be left to play on the playground unattended.
When and Where is Biking Permitted at Danforth Bay?
With wide open grounds and the adjacent Freedom Town Forest, Danforth Bay is a great place to enjoy a little biking. For everyone’s safety, we ask that guests refrain from biking after dark. And we encourage all bicyclists to wear helmets.
Are the Bathhouses Heated?
Yes! We have three radiant-heated bathhouses with full shower facilities. We also have two heated sink rooms for washing dishes
Which Amenities Are Available During the Winter?
Throughout the winter, all available sites at Danforth Bay include electric, basic cable TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. The Depot is also open during limited hours for convenient snacks and supplies.
Are There Snowshoeing Trails at Danforth Bay?
Yes! From the grounds at Danforth Bay, you can snowshoe up Mount Mary or through the Freedom Town Forest located right next door. Stop by The Depot for directions and trail maps.
Can I Access the Snowmobile Trails Right From My Site?
Yes! Danforth Bay is connected to New Hampshire's statewide trail network, and riders can access more than 6,800 miles of trails, right from their campsite, including Corridor 19.
Do You Plow the Campground?
Yes! We plow the roads required to maintain access to our winter sites, and we plow one parking spot per site.
Do You Rent Cabins in the Winter?
We have seven cabins available for seasonal winter rental. In the event that one is not occupied, we’ll rent it out at a nightly rate. With kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, cable hook-ups and private baths, these cozy cabins can be your home away from home.
Please note: Our winter cabins are not outfitted with linens, towels or kitchen supplies. Neither pets nor smoking is permitted in our cabins. Limited to recreational use, full-time occupancy is not permitted.
Is The Depot Store Open Throughout the Winter?
Yes.
Is There Ice Fishing at Danforth Bay?
Danforth Bay is a great place to bring your family ice fishing. Here, you can catch bass, sunfish and perch!
Is the Laundry Facility Open During the Winter?
Yes! The laundry room inside The Depot is open to Danforth Bay campers throughout the winter. Contact The Depot for the facility’s hours of operation.
Can I Access the Water Hookups at My Site During the Winter?
No. However, you can access any one of our three radiant-heated bathhouses with full shower facilities and two heated sink rooms.
What Is the Minimum Age Requirement to Rent a Site at The Bluffs?
At The Bluffs, we exclusively rent sites to guests aged 50 and better, with no dependents.
Are Children Allowed to Visit The Bluffs?
Children are allowed to visit The Bluffs on a short-term basis only. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult whenever they leave the site of the person they’re visiting. Additional restrictions apply, so please see our Bluffs Guidelines for additional info.
Are Sites at The Bluffs Sold or Rented?
Sites at The Bluffs are NOT for sale. They are, however, rented by the season.
Can I Reserve My Seasonal Site Now?
We currently have a waiting list for those interested in seasonal sites at The Bluffs. All potential seasonal guests must go through a formal interview process to ensure that they understand the intent of this section of Danforth Bay, and the operating guidelines of the entire park.
If I Rent a Site at The Bluffs and Decide It’s Not for Me, Can I Move to a Seasonal Site in Danforth Bay?
Currently, all seasonal sites are filled at Danforth Bay. And should a site become available, we cannot guarantee you will be offered the site. There is a Seasonal Site Request form that must be submitted to be considered. Please email [email protected] to access the form or for more information.
Is The Bluffs at Danforth Bay the Same Place As Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort?
Both resorts and are located on the shores of Danforth Bay. And both are owned and operated by the Hoyt Family with assisted management from Highway West Vacations.
However, Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort is geared toward families and campers of all ages with both seasonal and overnight sites. While The Bluffs at Danforth Bay was developed as an extended-stay RV resort designed especially for adults 50+, with no dependents.
What Are Some of the Amenities at The Bluffs?
The Bluffs offers a 10,000 square-foot Clubhouse (complete with fitness room, kitchen and laundry facility), three tennis/pickleball courts, and two saline pools (a lap pool and a recreational-use pool). We also offer complimentary kayak and canoe rentals for use on Huckins Pond. For more on our amenities, check out The Bluffs page.
What Criteria Must Be Met by Guests Interested in The Bluffs?
At The Bluffs, no more than two people can be registered per site, one of which must be at least 50 years of age. The Bluffs is intended for couples who no longer have dependent children living at home. For more information, email [email protected].
Can I Return to My Campsite After the Season is Over?
Seasonal campers may check on their camping unit during regular office hours but may not stay overnight in the park. If you choose to leave your RV and/or any belongings on site, an additional storage fee is required. In the winter, access to sites in The Bluffs is gained by parking at the Clubhouse and walking to sites. Other than that, you may not drive in The Bluffs until opening day.
What Is The Bluffs Operating Season Projected to Be?
We plan to stay open from May through October. With unpredictable weather patterns, every season is different, so please call to confirm scheduled opening and closing dates as we get closer to those points of the season.
Can I Rent a Site by the Night at The Bluffs?
Unfortunately, no. The Bluffs ONLY offers extended-stay (of at least one week) and seasonal site rentals.
Can I Access the Amenities at Danforth Bay While Staying at The Bluffs?
Yes! All guests of The Bluffs have access to the amenities and communal events at Danforth Bay. However, guests of Danforth Bay do not have access to the amenities and communal events at The Bluffs.
Does The Bluffs Offer Amenities and Activities for Children?
No. The Bluffs is intended for adults 50+ only. However, guests may participate in activities and use the amenities at Danforth Bay.
What Is the Rate for a Seasonal Site at The Bluffs?
Seasonal sites at The Bluffs, when available, are offered at a set rate plus metered electric. Rates include basic cable TV, internet access, Clubhouse, pool and fitness room entry, use of canoes & kayaks and guest fees. These rates also include access to Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort’s amenities and activities programing. However, these rates do not include on-site storage during the winter season.

What Exactly Is Danforth Bay?
"Danforth Bay" refers to the body of water on which Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort is located. The Danforth Ponds are connected to several other bodies of water, including Ossipee Lake which can be accessed by a small channel connecting the bodies of water.
What Accessible Accommodations Do You Offer?
At Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, we hope that every last one of our guests can equally access and fully enjoy our campground. Our sites remain mostly natural surfaces and though level for camping and situating RVS, variances in terrain and accessibility do occur. At this time, our cabins and cottage are not ADA accessible.
